Challenge:
A major private satellite operator in New Zealand (hereafter referred as “Sateco”) plans to develop a private 24-channels digital satellite system. Sateco looks for quality alternatives to high end digital satellite solutions with CAS/SMS.
Solution:
Sateco started out evaluating three potential vendors including WellAV. After careful selection, Sateco is inclined to pick WellAV’s digital satellite solution. Given this is the first for Sateco to purchase products from China, WellAV provided a demo system to Sateco to be tested in its settings. The demo system ran pretty well and subsequently, WellAV developed a 24-channel scrambled satellite system solution for Sateco and guided the customer remotely through the installation and the service launch. The system has been running successfully in the last 12 months. To provide better quality channels for subscribers, Sateco plans to upgrade the satellite system to broadcast MPEG 4 encoded programs. WellAV becomes their first choice and they plans to purchase WellAV’s H.264 HD satellite receivers and headend system by the end of 2008. |
