(BH&R) is a well-established hospitality group in the Philippines.
Driven by a core purpose of “creating experiences that delight”, BH&R prioritizes anticipating and exceeding guest needs at every touchpoint.

However, with evolving guest preferences and advancing technology, BH&R has faced new hurdles in keeping in-room entertainment both relevant and engaging.

Most of the TV channels came through bundled packages that required significant recurring fees, yet offered little flexibility.
At the same time, guests increasingly preferred accessing content from their favorite apps, but the legacy TV system in place couldn’t support this.
As a result, BH&R was paying for a broad selection of channels that few guests actually watched, while unable to provide the personalized streaming experiences they desired.

To keep delivering the comfort and enjoyment to guests, BH&R needed a new IPTV system that would not only reduce unnecessary content costs, but also give guests the freedom to enjoy the apps and programs they truly value.

In 2024, BH&R partnered with Wellav to address these challenges across their four flagship properties:

Wellav provided a solution that combines cost-efficiency, flexibility, and an enhanced guest experience.
|
|
|
|
The deployment was built around Wellav’s CMP100 and CMP201D video processors. They deliver free-to-air local channels via antenna while retaining only the premium satellite channels that matter most.
|
|
|
In addition, Wellav IPTV platform provides guests access to their favorite streaming apps directly. This approach allows BH&R to reduce unnecessary pay-TV costs while offering a richer and more personalized selection of content.

During on-site evaluations, the Wellav team found that some guest rooms, particularly in long-established properties, did not have network cabling.
To overcome this, Wellav deployed an HLS-based architecture that integrates seamlessly into existing environments.
This design not only avoided costly and disruptive rewiring, but also accelerated deployment timelines, simplified system configuration, and reduced daily maintenance workloads for hotel staff.

Beyond technical performance, the solution was also crafted to strengthen BH&R’s brand promise of delivering memorable stays. Wellav designed customized user interfaces for each property, aligning the IPTV experience with both guest expectations and hotel identity.

For example, the IPTV UI of the Bellevue Resort Bohol features an ocean-inspired design with tide schedules and swimming recommendations displayed directly on screen.
This adds a thoughtful touch that enhances both utility and the resort’s seaside charm.

Following the rollout of the new IPTV system, BH&R streamlined its selection of paid channels, reducing licensing costs. The intuitive system configuration improved daily operational efficiency, simplifying routine tasks for staff.
Most importantly, guests now enjoy a richer in-room entertainment experience, with expanded access to preferred content. The customized UI further reflects each hotel’s distinctive atmosphere at a key guest touchpoint, delivering an immersive experience that reinforces the overall brand identity.
